Loudoun County announced on April 6 that it will hold a public information meeting and open house about a proposed county government facility at the intersection of Natchez Drive and Crosstrail Boulevard. The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 16, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Dulles Room at the Loudoun County Government Center in Leesburg.

The meeting aims to inform residents of the Tuscarora Crossing and Kincaid Forest communities about plans for a new facility that would consolidate several existing Department of General Services operations into one location. According to county officials, approximately 250 employees would work at the proposed site, which is planned to include general office space as well as warehouse areas for public works, records storage, and other services.

During the event, attendees can view a presentation about the project and ask questions before reviewing detailed plans during an open house session. The county encourages community members to participate in these discussions as part of its broader approval process.

The Planning Commission held an initial public hearing on March 24 regarding the proposal and has scheduled a follow-up work session for May 14. The Board of Supervisors will also consider input from residents during upcoming meetings. Dates for these sessions are available on loudoun.gov/calendar, with instructions on how to sign up to speak found at loudoun.gov/SignuptoSpeak.

County officials say they are updating design plans based on feedback from residents and commission members. Efforts include adding extensive buffering between buildings and residential areas to minimize visual and noise impacts. More than three acres of open space will be included in the site plan, with at least 1.65 acres designated as tree conservation area. Lighting will comply with “Dark Sky” standards by limiting height to no more than fourteen feet.

The building is being designed as a LEED Silver facility with features intended to reduce energy use and environmental impact. In addition, construction is set to begin soon on another project nearby—the first phase of the Government Support Center office complex near Kincaid Boulevard and Adoption Drive.
