The Loudoun County Department of Family Services (DFS) will hold a series of virtual foster care information sessions during the winter months of 2026. The sessions are scheduled for Monday, January 12; Wednesday, February 18; and Monday, March 16. Each session will take place from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
According to DFS, these sessions are intended for individuals interested in learning about becoming a foster family or parent. During the events, representatives from the department will provide information on the need for foster care in the county, outline eligibility requirements for prospective foster parents, explain the process involved in becoming a foster parent, and describe the support services available to foster families.
“Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and sign up for next steps,” according to DFS.
Attendance at these sessions is free, but registration is required. More details and registration information can be found at loudoun.gov/FosterCare.
For those who need accommodations to participate in the program, DFS asks that requests be made at least three business days in advance by contacting their office at 703-777-0353.
