The Loudoun County School Board is scheduled to hold a meeting at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, at the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Administrative Offices located at 21000 Education Court in Ashburn.

The complete agenda for the meeting can be found on the School Board website under the Meetings section or through the Board Meetings & Documents link on the LCPS webpage. The board will accept both in-person and virtual public comments during this session. Details about participation and instructions for signing up to speak are available on the Citizen Participation webpage.

Sign-up for public comment closes at noon on March 5. Those who do not pre-register may sign up in person between 4:15 and 4:45 p.m. at the LCPS Administrative Offices, with walk-up speakers added to the end of the in-person comment list. The list of pre-registered speakers will be posted outside the Administrative Offices building and on the school division’s website approximately one hour before the meeting begins.

Speakers are required to keep their remarks within a time limit set by the Chair, which is announced before public comments start and determined based on both agenda length and number of speakers.

Members of the public can watch both public comments and the entire meeting from inside the School Board Meeting Room, entering through the west entrance of Administrative Offices.

Those eligible to address the School Board include Loudoun County residents (including those living in incorporated towns), business owners operating fully or partly within Loudoun County, county taxpayers, current or former LCPS students, parents or guardians of LCPS students residing outside Loudoun County, LCPS employees or retirees, as well as representatives from organizations serving LCPS staff and students.

Security protocols remain in effect for all attendees entering for School Board meetings. All persons and items brought into the building may be searched. Prohibited items include large bags or purses (except handbags smaller than 8 inches-by-11-inches-by-2 inches), backpacks, food, sticks or rods, lighters or matches, aerosols, noise-making devices, voice-enhancement equipment, mace or pepper spray, and any weapons. Attendees may bring water in soft-plastic containers up to one liter per person.

Materials intended for board members should be given to either a Public Information Officer or their designee before proceedings begin; these must be hand-carried without boxes or bags. Presenters are not permitted to approach board members directly during meetings.

Photography and recording by attendees are allowed; images captured may become part of official records or appear in media reports. The meeting will be broadcast live online via the LCPS webpage as well as televised locally—standard definition coverage will air on Verizon FIOS channel 43 while high-definition streaming will be available on Comcast channel 1070.
