The Loudoun County School Board will hold a meeting at 4:30 p.m. on May 12 in the School Board Meeting Room at the Loudoun County Public Schools Administrative Offices, located at 21000 Education Court in Ashburn.
The agenda for the meeting is available through the Board Docs website under Meetings, and can also be accessed via the Board Meetings & Documents link on the Loudoun County School Board webpage. The board will accept both in-person and virtual comments during this session. Instructions for signing up to speak are provided on the Citizen Participation webpage.
Sign-up for public comment closes at noon on May 12. Walk-up registrations for in-person public comment will be accepted from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the administrative offices, with walk-up speakers added to the end of the list of in-person commenters. The pre-registered speaker list will be posted outside of the administrative offices and online about an hour before the meeting begins. Speakers must adhere to time limits set by the Chair, which are determined based on attendance and agenda items.
Members of the public may view comments and attend meetings in person via entry through the west entrance of administrative offices. Those eligible to address the board include residents, business owners within Loudoun County, taxpayers, current or former students, parents or guardians living outside of Loudoun County with students enrolled in LCPS, employees or retirees of LCPS, and representatives from organizations serving school staff or students.
Safety protocols remain active for attendees entering administrative offices; all persons and items are subject to search upon entry. Prohibited items include large bags or purses (with exceptions for small handbags), backpacks, food, sticks or rods, lighters or matches, aerosols, noise-making devices, voice-enhancement devices, mace or pepper spray, and weapons; water bottles up to one liter made from soft plastic are allowed per person.
Materials intended for board members should be submitted directly to a Public Information Officer prior to start time rather than handed over personally during proceedings. Photography and video recording are permitted; such images may become part of public records or media coverage. The meeting will be live-streamed via LCPS’s website as well as broadcasted locally.
