Every school in Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) has a Family Liaison who assists families in accessing and navigating community resources. These liaisons provide support with needs such as food, housing, health services, and employment.

Family Liaisons serve as a connection between families and various nonprofit services and community programs throughout Loudoun County. They also help families understand and use LCPS programs like weekend backpack meals, fee waivers, free and reduced meal applications, among others. When confidential referrals or additional support are required, Family Liaisons offer guidance.

Families are encouraged to contact their Family Liaison early if they need assistance. “Reach out early if your family could use support.” Families should communicate their specific needs so the liaison can connect them with appropriate resources: “Share your needs so the Family Liaison can connect you with the right help.” Maintaining regular communication is recommended to ensure ongoing access to resources: “Stay in touch to ensure continued access to resources.”

To find a Family Liaison, families can visit their school’s website or the LCPS Family and Community Engagement website.

According to LCPS, supporting families helps students feel more confident and prepared for learning. “When families feel supported, students are more confident and ready to learn. The Family Liaison helps strengthen that connection between home, school and community.”

Additional information about available assistance for food, housing support, insurance, and other needs can be found on the Loudoun County Government’s Resources for Federal Workforce page.
