Loudoun Valley High School head football coach David Bishop has been named the Washington Commanders’ “Tackle Coach of the Week” for the first week of the season. The award is given to high school coaches in the region who show strong leadership, sportsmanship, and commitment to their players both on and off the field.
As part of this recognition, Loudoun Valley’s football program will receive a grant from the Washington Commanders. Coach Bishop and a guest will also attend a Commanders home game later in the season, where he will be honored on the field and featured on stadium video boards.
The Coach of the Week program by the Commanders highlights coaches who have a positive influence through football by motivating young athletes and building community pride. Team sports like football are seen as ways for students to develop leadership skills, resilience, and connections with their peers and communities.
“This recognition reflects Coach Bishop’s dedication to his players, our school and the greater Loudoun Valley community,” said Dr. Susan Ross, LVHS Principal. “He not only develops strong athletes, but also instills character, teamwork and responsibility, qualities that extend well beyond the field and benefit our entire community.”
