A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a domestic-related homicide that occurred in the Ballston-Virginia Square neighborhood, according to the Arlington County Police Department. Logan Chrisinger, 27, of Arlington, was taken into custody and faces charges of Murder – 1st Degree, Aggravated Malicious Wounding, and Using a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. He is being held without bond at the Arlington County Detention Facility.
Police responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 8:28 a.m. on August 17 in the 3400 block of Fairfax Drive. Officers found an adult female inside a residence with an apparent gunshot wound. They administered lifesaving measures before medics transported her to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation suggests that Chrisinger fatally shot his mother inside their home and remained at the scene when police arrived.
The victim has been identified as Travis Renee Baldwin, 57, of Winchester, Virginia. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause and manner of death.
