Arlington County Police released their daily crime report for October 1, 2025, summarizing several incidents that occurred the previous day. The report is published each weekday and includes significant criminal events but does not cover every police response in the county.

On September 30, officers responded to a suspicious person call in the 300 block of S. Fillmore Street around 11:08 p.m. According to police, a male suspect was seen jumping over fences on S. Edgewood Street before being observed exiting a residence on S. Fillmore Street. Officers detained him after a brief struggle and found brass knuckles during a search incident to arrest. The suspect, identified as Todd Bruner, 56, of Arlington, VA, was evaluated by medics at the scene before being arrested and charged with two counts of Unlawful Entry, two counts of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Possession of Blackjacks.

Earlier that evening at approximately 8:48 p.m., police were called to the 1100 block of S. Joyce Street for a reported larceny. Authorities say a male suspect entered a business, concealed merchandise, and left without paying. When confronted by an employee outside the store, he implied he had a weapon and fled on foot with the stolen items. Police described the suspect as a Black male about 40 years old, between 6’0” and 6’3” tall and weighing between 180-200 pounds; he was last seen wearing all black clothing and carrying a blue shopping bag. Officers canvassed the area but did not locate him. The investigation is ongoing.

Other incidents listed in the report include multiple cases of assault and battery, larceny at various locations including N. Quincy Street and Wilson Boulevard, possession of stolen property on S. Woodrow Street, destruction of property on Lincoln Street and other areas, fraud reports across several addresses such as Columbia Pike and N. Adams Street, suspicious circumstances in different neighborhoods like N. Tazewell Street and N. Irving Street, shoplifting on S. Hayes Street, larceny from auto incidents on Walter Reed Drive and Hayes Street as well as reports involving stolen vehicles—a blue Jeep Wrangler taken from the 4200 block of 31st St S., and a white Kia Sportage from Four Mile Run Drive.

The report notes that all information is based on initial police accounts which may change upon further investigation or court proceedings: “All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and charges may be amended during the court proceedings.”
