Police seek public help identifying peeping suspect at Aurora Hills Library

The Arlington County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit is asking for the public’s help to identify and locate a suspect involved in a peeping incident at Aurora Hills Library. The event occurred on August 19 at around 11:43 a.m., when officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at the library, located in the 700 block of 18th Street S.

According to police, “the preliminary investigation indicates the female victim was inside a restroom when the male suspect entered and allegedly looked under her stall. The victim then exited the restroom and left the property. The suspect left the scene prior to police arrival and responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results.”

Authorities describe the suspect as a Black male in his 40s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, wearing a green hoodie, black hat, and white shoes.

Police also stated that “the preliminary investigation indicates the suspect may have had verbal contact with other individuals while on scene.” They are encouraging anyone who might have information that could assist with their investigation or who can identify the individual to contact Detective C. Arlington County is home to one public school district serving over 27,500 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to data from the Virginia Department of Education. Washington Liberty High School reported having the highest enrollment among local schools with nearly 2,900 students for that same period (source). White students made up about 42% of countywide enrollment while Hispanic students accounted for just over 30% (source).
