Rep. Don Beyer, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 8th district since 2015, addressed several national issues in recent posts on his social media account.

On September 21, 2025, Beyer highlighted concerns about rising health insurance costs, stating: “Health insurance costs are set for their biggest jump in 5 years. Why?

– Trump’s proposed tariffs on drug imports and,
– Republicans allowing ACA subsidies to expire, which could hike premiums for over 24 million Americans on top of ongoing inflation.

The following day, on September 22, Beyer commented on a reported release of an unnamed individual with the post: “Long overdue but very happy to see the news that he will be released!

Later that same day, Beyer called for the publication of specific records by posting: “RELEASE THE HOMAN TAPES https://t.co/Q61e8K4l9h”

Beyer has represented Virginia’s 8th District in Congress since succeeding Jim Moran in 2015. He was born in Trieste in 1950 and currently resides in Alexandria. A graduate of Williams College (class of 1972), Beyer has been active in public service for several decades.
