Rep. Don Beyer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 8th district since 2015, has recently shared his views on several pressing issues via social media. Born in Trieste in 1950 and a graduate of Williams College, Beyer currently resides in Alexandria.

On June 17, 2025, Beyer expressed his stance against military conflict with Iran by stating “Completely agree — no war with Iran.”

Later that day, he criticized former President Donald Trump by labeling him as “the tax fraud president.”

In another post on the same day, Beyer recounted a conversation with Treasury Secretary Bessent regarding the financial implications of Republican tax cuts for the wealthy. He noted that Bessent claimed these would be offset by Trump’s tariffs. However, Beyer warned that if both policies are enacted, “the bottom 80% of US households lose,” while only the wealthiest benefit.

Don Beyer’s tenure in Congress began after succeeding Jim Moran in 2015. He has been vocal about economic and foreign policy issues during his time in office.
