Rep. Don Beyer, a longstanding U.S. Representative for Virginia’s 8th District, shared several statements on social media addressing both cultural celebrations and political issues. Beyer, who succeeded Jim Moran in 2015, has used his platform to discuss various topics ranging from religious holidays to national policies.

In a tweet dated March 30, 2025, Rep. Beyer extended his wishes for Eid al-Fitr, marking the conclusion of Ramadan. He wrote: “Eid Mubarak to all celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan! Have a blessed time surrounded by friends and family.”

Addressing economic concerns, Beyer commented on March 31, 2025, about former President Trump’s tariffs. He stated: “Every state should be shielded from Trump’s tariffs. All of our constituents deserve protection from tax increases and higher prices. Congress can stop this from happening to the whole country by acting together and passing laws. We have the bills, we just need political will.”

Later that day, Beyer addressed an issue related to security breaches, calling for accountability. He tweeted: “These security breaches put Americans at risk for no reason. Waltz should absolutely resign or be fired, there is no excuse for this at all.”
