Rep. Don Beyer, who represents Virginia’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of issues in recent posts on his social media account.
On March 13, 2026, Beyer shared a link to a WTOP article, writing “Read more in WTOP: https://t.co/eZbdChCBpk”.
Later that day, he commented on the loss of American servicemembers: “My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the six American servicemembers lost. May they rest in peace. Their loss is a painful reminder of the human cost of war. https://t.co/z7K8T551vn” (March 13, 2026).
On March 14, 2026, Beyer highlighted concerns about health care affordability in the United States: “The U.S. is the richest country in the world, yet millions of Americans are forced to make impossible decisions like skipping meals or cutting back on utilities to afford health care. It’s not right. Congress must restore and expand the Affordable Care Act tax credits.”
Beyer has served as Virginia’s 8th district representative since replacing Jim Moran in 2015 and resides in Alexandria. Born in Trieste in 1950 and a graduate of Williams College (1972), Beyer has used his platform to comment on national policy issues and express condolences regarding military losses.
