Rep. Don Beyer, who represents Virginia’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several national issues on his social media account. His posts included criticism of former President Donald Trump, a tribute to Robert Mueller, and concerns about presidential conduct.
On March 21, 2026, Beyer criticized Donald Trump’s approach to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding, writing: “This is Trump looking to create more problems rather than find a solution. The solution here is to pass @rosadelauro’s bill to fund the law abiding parts of DHS.”
Later that day, Beyer offered condolences following the death of Robert Mueller: “Robert Mueller served our nation with integrity and a commitment to the rule of law. My deepest condolences to his family and all who knew and respected him. May he rest in peace.”
On March 22, 2026, Beyer expressed concern over the behavior of the sitting president: “It’s important not to shy away from candidly discussing the President’s increasingly erratic behavior. His worsening instability is a clear and growing threat, not only to the American people but to the world.”
Beyer has represented Virginia’s 8th District since 2015 after succeeding Jim Moran. He was born in Trieste in 1950 and currently resides in Alexandria. He graduated from Williams College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972.
