Rep. Don Beyer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 8th district since 2015, announced several community-focused initiatives and updates through his social media posts in early March 2026.
On March 8, Beyer invited federal workers, contractors, and economically impacted individuals to a resource fair: “I’m hosting a resource fair for federal workers, contractors, and economically impacted individuals on March 21 at Wakefield High School in Arlington. Come meet with local partners who can connect you with housing assistance, food banks, resources for small businesses, and more.” The event aims to provide support by connecting attendees with local organizations offering essential services.
He followed up the same day with additional information: “For more information, visit my website: https://t.co/vpJRuZ33S2” (March 8).
The following day, Beyer commented on recent public advocacy regarding government spending: “Thanks to over 32,000 concerned citizens, approval for Trump’s taxpayer-funded ballroom has been delayed. A great reminder that using your voice is always important and has an impact!” (March 9).
Beyer was born in Trieste in 1950 and currently resides in Alexandria. He holds a BA from Williams College (1972). His long-standing service began when he succeeded Jim Moran as the representative for Virginia’s 8th District.
