On February 17, 2026, Beyer announced an upcoming public event: “I’m holding my next telephone town hall this Thursday, 2/19 at 5:30pm. If you’d like to participate, you can sign up here: https://t.co/5ntlV1W8kV https://t.co/5o6uMHl8fc”. This message highlights his intent to engage with constituents and address their concerns directly.
Later that same day, Beyer extended greetings for the holy month of Ramadan by posting: “Ramadan Mubarak to you and your loved ones! May it be a peaceful month filled with reflection and illuminated with prayer. https://t.co/rIhzmivgoP” on February 17, 2026.
On February 19, 2026, he commented on former President Donald Trump’s stance regarding Iran: “Trump is threatening to take America to war with Iran unless they make a deal like the one he tore up in 2017 to give up the nuclear weapons program he claimed to have “completely and totally obliterated” a few months ago. No war with Iran.”
Beyer has represented Virginia’s 8th District since succeeding Jim Moran in 2015 and resides in Alexandria. Born in Trieste in 1950, he holds a BA from Williams College.
