Rep. Don Beyer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 8th district since 2015, recently used his social media platform to comment on environmental regulations, labor protections, and healthcare legislation.
On December 12, 2025, Beyer criticized Republican lawmakers’ stance on environmental regulation by stating, “Republicans think there should be no limits on dumping, including forever chemicals, because their donors’ interests are more important than the American public’s health and well-being.”
Later that day, Beyer addressed labor protections for federal workers. In a post timestamped December 12, 2025, he wrote: “Yesterday, I voted YES on legislation that would repeal President Trump’s attacks on labor protections for more than a million federal workers. I’m grateful to the 20 Republicans who joined us to pass this bill, and I urge my colleagues in the Senate to support it.”
Beyer also commented on healthcare access in another post dated December 12, 2025: “Extending ACA tax credits isn’t optional. It’s essential to preventing millions of Americans from being priced out of health care coverage and medical services they rely on.”
Don Beyer has represented Virginia’s 8th District since replacing Jim Moran in 2015. Born in Trieste in 1950 and currently residing in Alexandria, Beyer holds a BA from Williams College.
