Rep. Don Beyer, who represents Virginia’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on March 23, 2026, to criticize former President Donald Trump and Republican policies on national security and healthcare.

In a post published at 20:40 UTC, Beyer questioned the actions of the former president regarding law enforcement and Department of Homeland Security funding: “Why is it so hard for Trump to say no to secret police? Why is it so hard for Trump to fund the law-abiding parts of DHS and ensure TSA workers are paid? President Trump doesn’t care about Americans being killed in the streets or havoc at the airport, He’d rather continue make https://t.co/knfZNlJjKc”.

Later that evening, at 21:20 UTC, Beyer addressed U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East with another statement: “Trump lit the Middle East on fire without consulting Congress. He continues to present us with lies, chaos, shifting objectives and escalation without an end game. The only answer from my colleagues on a supplemental to fund the war in Iran should be: Hell no. https://t.co/INz9dk7pgQ”.

At 23:25 UTC, Beyer commented on Republican positions regarding reproductive healthcare: “Republicans claim to be the ‘pro-life’ party, but there is nothing pro-life about denying pregnant women the medical care they need.
