Rep. Don Beyer, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 8th district since 2015, has been vocal on social media about various political issues. On March 5, 2025, he shared his views through a series of tweets addressing foreign policy and veterans’ affairs.

In a tweet posted at 14:58 UTC, Rep. Beyer criticized former President Donald Trump’s interactions with Russia, stating that “Putin, the Kremlin, and Russia get exactly what they want from Donald Trump, again.” He expressed concern over the impact on American allies and interests, describing it as “weakness.”

Later that day at 17:28 UTC, Beyer commented on staffing levels at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), noting that “taking staff back to 2019 levels at the VA would mean firing over 80,000 employees there.” He highlighted that many of these employees are veterans themselves.

At 17:34 UTC on the same day, Beyer further criticized actions attributed to Donald Trump and Elon Musk regarding veterans’ services. He stated that “Donald Trump Elon Musk have operationalized Trump’s contempt for those who served,” accusing them of unjustly firing VA workers and freezing funding illegally.
