Rep. Don Beyer, who has represented Virginia’s 8th district in the U.S. Congress since 2015, posted a series of statements on social media addressing labor rights, congressional actions regarding the Epstein files, and recent tax policies.

On September 1, 2025, Beyer recognized workers’ historical achievements by stating, “Honoring the strength and solidarity of workers who – individually and together in labor unions – fought for weekends, the 8-hour workday, safer working conditions, and basic protections in the workplace. Happy Labor Day!”

The following day, on September 2, 2025, he alleged White House involvement in congressional decisions about sensitive documents: “The White House is calling Republicans in Congress asking them not to take action to require release of the Epstein files: https://t.co/CfzAqYYrRA”

On September 3, 2025, Beyer commented on recent tax policy changes and tariffs affecting American families: “Under the GOP tax law, billionaires got the big tax cuts. In fact, thanks to Republicans, many working families will actually see their taxes go up: https://t.co/HPLQYtM4sb And Trump’s tariffs are a huge tax hike on working Americans.
