Don Beyer, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 8th district, took to social media on May 1, 2025, addressing various political and legislative topics. He replaced former Congressman Jim Moran in 2015 and has been serving since. Beyer was born in 1950 in Trieste and later graduated from Williams College in 1972. He currently resides in Alexandria.

At 3:08 p.m., Beyer posted a tweet calling for the removal of Pete Hegseth. “Pete Hegseth has to go too. No excuse at all to keep him in this job, he screwed up numerous times and is doing things anyone who serves under him would have been fired for. Any other president would fired someone this incompetent a long time ago.” Beyer criticized the competency of Hegseth and questioned his continued employment under the current administration.

Later at 5:03 p.m., Beyer shared a tweet highlighting legislative developments for former federal employees. “NEW— @GovExec: ‘Federal Employees Removed By Trump Would Have Easier Pathway Back To Government Service Under Democratic Bill’ Via @seanthenewsboy:” Beyer pointed to an article discussing a Democratic bill that could help federal employees removed under the previous administration to return to public service.

At 5:53 p.m., Beyer shared details about a job fair. “ICYMI- @AlexandriaNow: ‘City of Alexandria teams up with Congressman Beyer for Federal Worker Job Fair on May 3′” This post referred to an initiative aiming to assist federal workers seeking employment, organized in collaboration with the City of Alexandria.

Don Beyer, aged 72, continues to engage actively in various political matters and seek reinstatement pathways for federal employees and support job-seeking initiatives in his district.
