Rep. Don Beyer, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 8th district since 2015, posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent actions by public officials and the role of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in federal vaccination policy.

On August 27, 2025, Beyer wrote: “Purges and arbitrary clearance revocations by Tulsi Gabbard and Pete Hegseth are clearly intended to punish and intimidate experienced career civil servant who say things the President doesn’t want to hear. These abuses of power make our country less safe.”

The following day, on August 28, Beyer called for immediate action regarding Robert F. Kennedy Jr., stating: “Trump must fire Robert F. Kennedy Jr. now, before he further endangers millions of American children, mothers, and families.”

In a subsequent post on the same day, Beyer continued his criticism: “If he does not remove RFK Jr. before this kook fully unleashes his crackpot conspiracy theories on America’s vaccination efforts, Trump will bear the responsibility for the unnecessary and preventable illnesses and deaths that result.”

Don Beyer has represented Virginia’s 8th District in Congress since succeeding Jim Moran in 2015. He was born in Trieste in 1950 and currently resides in Alexandria. Beyer is an alumnus of Williams College with a Bachelor of Arts degree earned in 1972.
