Rep. Don Beyer, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 8th district since 2015, recently shared his views on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. These tweets address concerns ranging from air safety to the welfare of his constituents and the importance of Medicaid.

On March 7, 2025, Rep. Beyer tweeted about Secretary Duffy’s accusation against Elon Musk regarding attempts to fire air traffic controllers amidst rising concerns over air safety due to recent incidents. He stated, “Secretary Duffy accuses Elon Musk of trying to fire air traffic controllers, at a time when multiple incidents including the worst crash in decades have raised major concerns about air safety. This is so dangerous, Republicans just have to stand up to stop these brainless firings.”

Later that day, Beyer expressed concern for his constituents’ well-being in another tweet posted at 21:26 UTC. He mentioned the struggles faced by those he represents by stating, “Would that all of our constituents had the opportunity for the same consideration. My constituents are really getting hurt right now.”

In a subsequent tweet at 22:30 UTC on March 7, Rep. Beyer highlighted his commitment to protecting Medicaid after hosting a roundtable discussion in Alexandria with various stakeholders involved in healthcare services. He emphasized its significance by tweeting, “I hosted a roundtable in Alexandria today to hear perspectives of hospitals, nursing homes, health clinics, doctors, nurses, providers, policymakers, and patients on Medicaid. Medicaid is just essential for Northern Virginians, and I am going to fight like hell to protect it.”
