Rep. Don Beyer, U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 8th district since 2015, addressed a series of policy issues on September 15, 2025, through posts on his social media account.

In a post published at 19:57 UTC, Beyer stated, “We can help by stopping the flow of arms from the UAE to the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan. I’m cosponsoring the Stand Up For Sudan Act, led by @RepSaraJacobs @ChrisVanHollen to cut off that offensive military support and help end Sudan’s civil war. More: https://t.co/40f0Y4cS4w”.

Later that evening, at 21:40 UTC, Beyer criticized executive actions regarding international military strikes. He wrote, “There is no legal authority that lets the President kill people in international waters based on accusations with no proof or due process. The details about the previous strike are shady and getting worse as we learn more. https://t.co/cROQ6ucEn5”.

At 23:54 UTC, Beyer commented on recent legislative activity related to trade tariffs. He posted, “Nearly every House Republican just voted to keep Donald Trump’s tariffs on Brazil in place. Trump’s huge, illegal taxes on coffee and other popular goods are raising prices for the American people — and just two Republicans voted to stop it. https://t.co/Nu4aiwYZuH”.

Beyer has served in Congress since succeeding Jim Moran in 2015 and represents constituents from Virginia’s 8th District. Born in Trieste in 1950 and currently residing in Alexandria, Beyer holds a BA from Williams College.
