Rep. Don Beyer, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 8th district since 2015, recently shared his views on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. Beyer, who succeeded Jim Moran and holds a BA from Williams College, has been an active voice in addressing both local and national concerns.

On June 5, 2025, Beyer commented on the accuracy of a community note by stating “The community note here is well sourced and 100% accurate.”

The following day, June 6, he criticized a Republican bill for its potential impact on Americans’ health coverage and economic burden. He highlighted several consequences: “16 million Americans losing health coverage… The biggest cut to Medicaid in history… Higher health, energy, and housing costs… Tax cuts for billionaires, tax hikes for working people… $3 trillion added to the national debt.” He concluded by calling the bill a “disgusting abomination.”

Later that same day, Beyer expressed his commitment to addressing gun violence by participating in Gun Violence Awareness Day. He tweeted “I #WearOrange on Gun Violence Awareness Day to draw attention to this uniquely American crisis that claims lives every single day.” He emphasized the need for policy change over mere expressions of sympathy.
