The Stafford County Board of Supervisors has announced a new date for the public listening session on the North Anna–Kraken Loop Electric Transmission Project. The meeting, which was postponed due to a January ice and snowstorm, is now scheduled for March 5, 2026. It will take place at Colonial Forge High School in Stafford, Virginia.

The purpose of the session is to inform residents about the regulatory process and to gather community feedback regarding the potential impacts of the transmission project in Stafford County. The event will begin with a presentation in the school auditorium, offered twice during the evening—first at 6:30 p.m. and again at 8:00 p.m.—to accommodate different schedules.

Following each presentation, attendees can visit interactive stations set up in the cafeteria. These stations are organized by proposed transmission line segments within Stafford County. Large-scale maps will be available to help residents understand how their neighborhoods might be affected by the project. Although there are seven total segments in the overall plan, this meeting will focus on five that are located within Stafford County. County representatives will collect public comments at each station; this input will help shape future county strategies and communications about the project.

Dominion Energy representatives will not attend this session. However, county officials stated they “look forward to continuing to work with Dominion to ensure this project minimizes the adverse impacts to County residents to the extent reasonably practicable.” They also noted that Dominion Energy plans separate community meetings as part of its outreach efforts.

Stafford County Public Schools District is home to more than 31,700 students as of the 2023-24 school year, according to data from the Virginia Department of Education. White students made up nearly 39% of all district enrollments while Hispanic students accounted for about one-quarter (source).
