The Stafford County Board of Supervisors will hold a public listening session regarding the proposed North Anna–Kraken Loop Electric Transmission Project on January 29, 2026. The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Brooke Point High School, located at 1700 Courthouse Rd in Stafford.

This session aims to inform residents about the regulatory process and gather feedback from the community on how the project could affect Stafford County. The meeting will begin with a presentation in the school auditorium, which will be offered twice—once at 6:30 p.m. and again at 8:00 p.m.—to accommodate attendees’ schedules.

Following the presentations, attendees can visit interactive stations set up in the cafeteria. These stations are organized by each of the five proposed transmission line segments within Stafford County, out of seven total project segments. Large-scale maps will be available to help residents identify specific areas and understand possible impacts on their neighborhoods. At each station, county representatives will collect feedback from residents for use in future planning and communication about the project.

Brooke Point High School, where the session takes place, had an enrollment of 2,242 students during the 2023-24 school year—the highest among all schools in Stafford County (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home). The county’s public school district enrolled a total of 31,700 students that year (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home), reflecting a modest increase from previous years (https://www.doe.virginia.gov/home).

Dominion Energy representatives will not attend this particular session; however, county officials stated they intend to continue working with Dominion to minimize negative effects on local residents as much as possible. According to county officials, “Dominion Energy will not be present at this session, but the County looks forward to continuing to work with Dominion to ensure this project minimizes the adverse impacts to County residents to the extent reasonably practicable.” They also noted that Dominion plans its own separate outreach meetings for community members.
