City of Harrisonburg issued the following announcement on March 2
The Harrisonburg Fire Department (HFD) is excited to announce their fire citizens academy. The purpose of the academy is to educate Harrisonburg city residents about how the Harrisonburg Fire Department operates and serves the community. The academy will provide a unique and fun experience for all participants. The academy is open to Harrisonburg city residents, 18 years and older, and is free of charge.
Important Dates:
Start Date: Tuesday, May 10, 2022
End Date: June 14, 2022
*Classes will be held every Tuesday night from 6:00-8:00pm - *some nights may go until 8:30pm.
*All applications must be received no later than Friday, April 1, 2022 at 5:00pm.

We expect to notify successful candidates no later than Friday, April 8, 2022.
