In celebration of Alexandria Mentoring Month, Alexandria Mentoring Partnership (AMP) is hosting a series of events throughout January aimed at recognizing and highlighting the impact of mentoring in the community.

One of the upcoming events is the Youth Mental Health First Aid: Empowering Communities training. Taking place on Thursday, January 18, at 4850 Mark Center Drive, Conference Room 10408, this full-day training aims to equip caring adults with the skills to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health challenges in youth. As stated by AMP, "Join us in creating a community that prioritizes the mental well-being of our young minds."

Another event to mark on your calendar is the Connect | Focus | Grow Info Session. This session, presented by Mentor Maryland | DC, will take place on the same day, January 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This virtual event aims to equip supervisors and mentors with a mentoring mindset while guiding youth on how to leverage their mentoring opportunities. AMP emphasizes that this event is open to established and emerging workforce development programs, and it is an opportunity to "learn, connect, and grow."

The full list of events and trainings in January can be found at alexandriava.gov/Mentoring. This website provides detailed information about each event and the registration process.

As stated by AMP, "Join us in nurturing mentoring relationships that empower individuals and bring about positive, enduring change in the Alexandria community."
