The City of Alexandria is inviting residents to participate in a virtual listening session tonight, January 18, to discuss the Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) development project in Potomac Yard. The session will focus on the financial proposal and economic impact of the project. Representatives from MSE, Municipal Advisors from Davenport & Company, and City Staff will be present to provide details and address any questions or concerns.
"This listening session is an important opportunity for residents to learn more about the financial aspects of the MSE development project and its potential impact on the City," said [City Official]. "We want to ensure that our community is well-informed and has the opportunity to provide their input."
The virtual listening session is the first of four weekly Thursday-night sessions that the City will be hosting, each tackling a different aspect of the project. The upcoming sessions will cover topics such as schools, housing, and other community benefits; transportation and traffic management; and small business and economic opportunity.
"We have structured these sessions to cover various aspects of the project in order to provide a comprehensive understanding to the community," explained [City Official]. "By addressing different facets of the development, we hope to address any concerns or questions that residents may have."
Residents who wish to attend the listening session are encouraged to register online ahead of the meeting. This will ensure that they receive all the necessary information and updates regarding the session.
"We want to make sure that everyone who is interested in participating has the opportunity to do so," said [City Official]. "By registering online, residents can stay informed and actively engage in the discussion."
The City of Alexandria is dedicated to gathering feedback and input from its residents, businesses, and civic leaders. The virtual listening sessions are just one of the many community engagement and education events planned by the City.
"We value the concerns and opinions of our community members," emphasized [City Official]. "These listening sessions are part of our commitment to transparency and inclusivity, as we work together to make informed decisions for the betterment of our city."
