City of Alexandria Offers Free Tax Preparation to Eligible Residents at Del Pepper Community Resource Center

Alexandria, Va. - The City of Alexandria is providing free tax preparation services to qualifying residents at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center. The Department of Community and Human Services has partnered with Community Tax Aid, Inc. to offer expert assistance to individuals and families with an income below $64,000.

"We want to ensure that all eligible residents are aware of the tax credits and deductions they can apply for," said the spokesperson for the Department of Community and Human Services. "Our expert volunteers will help taxpayers navigate through the process and maximize their benefits, particularly the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit."

The tax preparation services will be available every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. starting from February 7 until April 17. Taxpayers can schedule an appointment by calling 202.830.1480 for English or 202.869.2999 for Spanish. Limited walk-in spots are also available.

The Del Pepper Community Resource Center, located at 4850 Mark Center Drive, is conveniently accessible by public transportation. It is a five-minute walk from the Mark Center Transit Station, and DASH transit serves the area. For schedule information, individuals can call 703.370.DASH (3274) or visit dashbus.com. In the event of inclement weather, tax services will be canceled if Alexandria City Public Schools close or if school activities are canceled. Individuals can find updates on school closures by calling the ACPS Hotline at 703.866.5300.
