The Alexandria West planning process is making progress, and the city is grateful for the participation of everyone involved. In a recent project update video, several key updates were highlighted.
Firstly, there were January work sessions with the Planning Commission and City Council. During these sessions, staff members provided an update on the planning process and received valuable feedback on the draft framework elements of the Plan. Recordings of these sessions can be found on the project webpage.
Additionally, the Draft Transportation Study Future Conditions Analysis, which summarizes the data presented in November 2023, has been posted on the project webpage. This analysis provides important information for the planning process.
The next important date to save is March 4, when a community meeting will be held to present the draft Plan recommendations. This meeting will take place virtually, using the Zoom platform. It is an opportunity for the community to learn about the progress of the project and provide input.
In the coming months, staff members will also be providing briefings on the Draft AlexWest Plan to various boards and commissions. These briefings will take place in March and April and will further involve the community in the planning process.
To stay updated on all future engagement opportunities, the city will be communicating through eNews and WhatsApp. Information will also be shared with community groups and posted on the project webpage. The webpage contains a wealth of background information, materials, and a project schedule.
