The City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities is organizing a Skatepark Pop-up event at Schuyler Hamilton Jones Skatepark. This event, set for Saturday, October 26 from 1 to 5 p.m., aims to engage the community in discussions about potential improvements to the skatepark.

Activities planned for the day include skateboarding lessons from 3 to 5 p.m., facilitated by experienced instructors. There will also be a Mobile Art Lab offering art projects suitable for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to participate in interactive discussions to share their ideas on how the skatepark can be improved.

Food options will be available with complimentary snacks and food trucks on-site. The department emphasizes that this event is not just an opportunity for fun but also a chance for community members to contribute meaningfully to enhancing the city's only skatepark.

For those unable to attend or wishing to provide input online, more information is available at alexandriava.gov/parks/skatepark-improvements. The department encourages everyone interested in shaping the future of the park to get involved.

For reasonable disability accommodations, contact Bethany.znidersic@alexandriava.gov or call 703.746.5492, Virginia Relay 711. Free interpretation and translation services are offered upon request via LanguageAccess@alexandriava.gov or by calling 703.746.3960.
