Thanks to the leadership of Angela Montgomery

Thanks to the leadership of Angela Montgomery, CPO and the Rocky Mountain Orthotic & Prosthetic Coalition (RMOPC), a team of advocates presented #SoKidsCanMove yesterday at the Colorado State Capitol in Denver as part of Rep. David Ortiz’s Disability Rights Conference!

So Kids Can Move is working to expand access to prostheses and orthoses utilized for physical activity as medically necessary healthcare for children and youth.

Colorado was the first state in the country to enact a fair coverage law for prosthetics in 2000 thanks to long time Coloradan and limb loss advocate, Dr. Jeff Cain. Since then, 20 other states have followed their example over the past 22 years.

We’re rooting these advocates on as they work to once again make historic progress for disability rights, presenting legislation to expand access to physical activity for kids with limb loss and limb difference. AOPA is honored to help support their effort with So Kids Can Move!

Last but not least, #Thanks to David Ortiz for Colorado for convening advocates from across the state in this empowering event!
