This #FeelGoodFriday goes out to this incredible group of #SoKidsCanMove

This #FeelGoodFriday goes out to this incredible group of #SoKidsCanMove advocates fighting for equitable access to physical activity for the disability community through legislative change!

Despite incredible advancements in disability rights over the past thirty years, still today in 2023, thousands of children and adults with limb loss and limb difference are unable to afford and access life-changing prosthetic and orthotic care that helps them be physically active due to a lack of insurance coverage. State, federal, and private health plans routinely deny this care as “not medically necessary.”

These 40+ advocates – from over 18 states around the country – have raised their hand for equality and freedom, saying, “We believe mobility is a right, not a privilege!” And they’re fighting to end this historic exclusion for individuals with disabilities, so every American – disabled and non-disabled alike – can enjoy the benefits of recreation, sport, and physical activity.

We’re excited to share more as these advocates progress through the legislative process in each of their states. Want to get involved? Reach out to bring So Kids Can Move to your state
