The Torpedo Factory Art Center will host a free workshop on roleplaying games, focusing on making Dungeons and Dragons more accessible. The event, organized by Open the Gates Gaming, is scheduled for Thursday, September 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Overlook Room at 105 N. Union St.

According to the announcement, “Open the Gates Gaming empowers everyone to tell their stories through the medium of tabletop roleplaying games. They have developed flexible, open-access tools that make learning to play Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition easier and more accessible, so anyone can play together.”

The workshop is part of a creative development series supported by a partnership between the Institute for Creative, Arts, and Technology at Virginia Tech, Expressions at Amazon Arlington, and the City of Alexandria’s Office of the Arts.

Participation is free but requires an RSVP. Interpretation and translation services are available upon request by contacting LanguageAccess@alexandriava.gov or calling 703.746.3960.
