The Virginia Catholic Conference announced on March 23 that the Virginia March for Life will take place in Richmond on April 22. The event comes as Virginians prepare to vote in November on a proposed constitutional amendment that would allow abortion at any stage of pregnancy.
Organizers say the march is an opportunity for advocates to demonstrate their support for life and opposition to the amendment. The day will begin with a rally at 10 a.m., followed by the march at 11 a.m. For the first time, participants can register for training sessions after the march at 12:30 p.m., which are designed to help them advocate against what organizers describe as an extreme abortion measure.
The announcement also encourages those seeking assistance during pregnancy to access resources provided by Virginia’s two dioceses. In addition, individuals who want updates and advocacy alerts from the Conference are invited to join its network and follow its social media channels.
“In prayer and in public, your voices are urgently needed to bring Gospel values to bear on vital decisions being made by those who represent you,” said representatives of the Virginia Catholic Conference.
The Virginia Catholic Conference serves as the public policy agency representing Virginia’s Catholic bishops and their two dioceses.
