The proposed conceptual design for the Westpark Property Improvements project in Leesburg is scheduled to be presented to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors’ Finance, Government Operations and Economic Development Committee on March 10. The committee will review the design and provide a recommendation to the full Board of Supervisors for endorsement.
The project aims to transform the former Westpark golf course, which was purchased by Loudoun County in 2022, into a passive park that preserves much of its natural environment. The current design includes plans for trails, parking lots, restrooms, pavilions, and a disc golf course.
After reviewing the proposal, the Board of Supervisors may alter the design before voting on final endorsement at a future business meeting. The vote could take place as early as March 17 but may also be scheduled for April or May.
While public comment will not be accepted during the committee meeting itself, residents can provide input on the park’s design during regular Board business meetings either in person or virtually. Public input sessions begin at 6:00 p.m., and information about signing up is available on loudoun.gov/SignUpToSpeak. Comments can also be submitted directly by email or by calling the Board’s public input phone line at 703-777-0115.
Board meetings are held at the Loudoun County Government Center in Leesburg and are broadcast on Comcast Channel 1075 and Verizon FiOS Channel 40. They are also livestreamed online at loudoun.gov/meetings. Meeting schedules and documents are posted in advance on loudoun.gov/calendar and loudoun.gov/BOSDocuments respectively.
If approved by the Board of Supervisors, construction on Westpark improvements could begin in summer 2026 with completion projected for fall 2027. More details about the project and options to receive updates can be found at loudoun.gov/WestparkProperty.
