On January 14, William Obediah Robey High School held a ceremony to honor 20 students who completed the requirements for their high school diplomas. The event took place in the school cafeteria and was attended by friends, families, staff, and students. Breakfast was served before the ceremony, with a cake donated by El Paso Bakery.

The group of honorees included students aged 17 to 21 from various schools across Loudoun County such as Broad Run, Freedom, John Champe, Tuscarora, Heritage, Riverside, Potomac Falls, Dominion, and Park View. Many of these students balance education with work or family responsibilities and benefit from Robey’s nontraditional educational model.

Student speaker Gigi Machuca Vivas addressed her peers during the event. She thanked her teachers for their support and encouraged fellow graduates not to give up on themselves and to stay open to learning new things. Her remarks received positive responses from those present.

A parent at the event expressed appreciation for the small class sizes and supportive environment at Robey High School that helped her daughter grow in confidence.

Dr. Jeanene Sims, principal of William Obediah Robey High School, spoke about the significance of recognizing both achievement and effort. “Robey is a school that meets students where they are and challenges them to rise,” Sims said. “Our students work incredibly hard, often while managing adult responsibilities. This celebration honors their commitment and reinforces that Robey is a school worthy of respect, pride and recognition.”

As each graduate’s name was announced during the ceremony, attendees applauded their accomplishments.

The school has upcoming open houses scheduled at its Sterling location on March 25 from 8 to 9 a.m., April 15 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., as well as a virtual information session on April 23 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Additional information about William Obediah Robey High School is available through its website or by contacting school counselors.
