After a strong 4-2 finish in conference play a year ago, the Marymount women's soccer team were picked to finish third in the Atlantic East Conference for the 2022, voted on by the conference's head coaches.
Cabrini University took the top spot in the poll with 32 total points.
In 2021, the Cavs took home their second Atlantic East title after defeating top-seeded Marywood in penalty kicks. The preseason favorite tallied 32 points and three first-place votes.
Marywood University looks to dethrone the reigning champion after picking up 31 points and four first-place votes to land at second in the poll.
Following the Pacers at third in the poll is Marymount University with 25 points. Neumann University landed at fourth with 20 points while Immaculata University took the fifth spot with 17 points.
Centenary University and Gwynedd Mercy University rounded out the poll with 16 points and six points, respectively.
All seven sqauds open their season on Thursday, September 1. Conference play will commence on Wednesday, October 5 with match-ups between Cabrini and Neumann, Centenary and Marywood as well as Marymount and Gwynedd Mercy.
The 2022 Atlantic East Tournament is set to begin with the quarterfinal round on Monday, October 31, followed by the semifinals on Wednesday, November 2, and the title contest on Saturday, Nov 5.
