The City of Alexandria's Office of Housing is requesting community feedback on the draft Principles and Goals for the Housing 2040 Master Plan. The draft documents, available in multiple languages including Spanish, Amharic, and Arabic, will contribute to the final formulation of the Housing 2040 plan.

Residents can submit their comments via the online form available until April 20. Language options for the form can be selected in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

The draft Principles and Goals were originally presented at the Housing 2040 Community Meeting and Open House held on March 18 at Patrick Henry K-8 School. Materials including a summary of survey findings about housing are available on the Housing 2040 website.

The 2013 Housing Master Plan outlined strategies for local housing needs through 2025. To continue beyond this, the city, in collaboration with local groups, is updating the plan to extend through 2040. The updated plan will incorporate new affordability goals and explore relevant housing policies.

Interested individuals can seek updates on the Housing 2040 plans via the city's website or on social media platforms. Information on disability accommodations and language interpretation services is also available for those who need it.
