2022 Omnibus Package Includes Funding for Key Arlington Projects

We appreciate Congress’ recent actions and $3.25 million included in the Omnibus Bill for important projects in Arlington. We are especially grateful to Congressman Beyer, Senator Warner and Senator Kaine for their leadership and focus on advancing priorities to tackle climate change, strengthen our aging infrastructure, and address public safety and emergency communications in our community. The specific projects in the Bill for Arlington includes:

  • $750,000 for the Arlington County Integrated Gray/Green Infrastructure projects to be installed in the Gulf Branch watershed downstream of Military Road, and in the Lower Long Branch Watershed on S. Walter Reed Drive Corridor
  • $750,000 for the Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Pipe Rehabilitation – Columbia Pike/ Sparrow Pond section of the Four Mile Run Interceptor
  • $750,000 for the Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Pipe Rehabilitation - Rosslyn Area of Potomac Interceptor
  • $1,000,000 to build the Crisis Incident Command Center
We are also pleased that the omnibus appropriations bill includes language to officially rename our Arlington Post Office on George Mason Drive after letter carrier Jesus Collazos.
