Rep. Don Beyer, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Virginia's 8th district since 2015, recently shared his concerns on social media regarding employment practices and alleged corruption involving prominent figures. Beyer, who succeeded Jim Moran in Congress and resides in Alexandria, has been vocal about these issues through a series of tweets.

On February 20, 2025, Rep. Beyer tweeted about a constituent's experience with deferred resignation agreements: "My constituent writes that 'They reneged on their original offer' of 'deferred resignation' after it was accepted." He further stated his belief that Elon Musk and Donald Trump did not honor their commitments.

Later that day, he addressed another employment issue within the National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA). In his tweet from February 20, 2025, he mentioned being contacted by an NNSA worker who faced inconsistent termination decisions: "Unfortunately this is not true. I was contacted by National Nuclear Safety Administration worker who was fired, then told her termination was paused, then told she was fired again." He added that similar situations were reported by other nuclear safety workers.

In another post on February 20, 2025, Rep. Beyer criticized actions affecting IRS employees during tax season: "Purging thousands of IRS workers in the middle of tax filing season is another act of plain corruption designed to benefit Musk, Trump, and their wealthy friends."
