Aecom PAC issued the following announcement on Jan. 21
AECOM, the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, today announced it has been selected to provide construction management services, as part of its design and consulting services business, for Whittier Union High School District (WUHSD) in Southern California. The contract is under WUHSD’s Measure AA bond program to modernize, upgrade, and expand its facilities. AECOM has been supporting the district since 1997.
“We’re thrilled to continue our work with WUHSD and support its efforts to provide schools that are state-of-the art and nurturing places of learning for years to come,” said Rigo Salinas, vice president and program and project management business line leader with AECOM’s U.S. West region. “By leveraging our extensive experience in supporting school bond programs in California and across the nation, we’re looking forward to serving as WUHSD’s trusted partner in navigating the complex challenges and evolving conditions of today to deliver the Measure AA projects.”
Working in close collaboration with WUHSD leadership, AECOM will support all phases of construction delivery, including contract coordination and administration, scheduling, cost and budget review, monitoring and reporting, and quality and closeout. WUHSD’s Measure AA bond program is designed to provide safe, secure, and upgraded classrooms and facilities to support twenty-first century learning environments that attract and retain quality teachers and provide students with a well-rounded education.
“We’re proud of our history and collaboration with WUHSD and share its commitment to provide the best facilities for students, teachers, and the community,” said Keith Kajiya, vice president, program and project management with AECOM’s U.S. West region. “With our local knowledge, focus on innovation, technical expertise, and proven methodologies, we’re excited to work hand-in-hand with district staff to implement the important work envisioned by this bond program.”
Goals of WUHSD’s Measure AA bond program include the modernization of schools and district facilities, improvements to energy efficiency, and increased access to technology. This includes addressing necessary repairs and renovations; enhancing school safety and tools; and upgrading vocational and career education, science, engineering, and computer classrooms.
