Argentum Announces Three Critical Positions Focused on the Future Needs of the Industry

Argentum is pleased to announce three critical positions have been filled to support the strategic direction of Argentum and focus on the future needs of the industry.

Ashante Abubakar has joined the association as Vice President, Workforce Development. In this role, Abubakar will lead new initiatives to address current and coming workforce challenges as well as advance many of Argentum’s existing programs. He will oversee the Workforce Development Committee while also leading various initiatives including: the Healthcare Apprenticeship Expansion Program (HAEP Grant), DEIB Coalition and diversity programs, Argentum’s Leadership Advancement & Development (LEAD) Program, and workforce intelligence data and reports as well.

Abubakar most recently served as Director for Strategic Initiatives, Workforce & Continuing Education at a large college in the Washington DC metro area, managing a staff of 40+ employees, whose work assisted and promoted the strategic objectives of the college, the county, and the other community college members across Maryland. His oversight included serving thousands of students and approximately 120 various programs. He has solicited, received, and managed millions of dollars in state and federal grant funded programs. Abubakar is also a military veteran, serving as a staff action officer (NCO) to the Commander-in-Chief, United States Army Europe (and NATO) and on the staff of the commanding general (US) in the Republic of South Korea, with operations, training, and security responsibilities.

Stephanie Robert has joined the association as Vice President, Content and Marketing. In this role, Robert will lead Argentum’s new strategic direction around content, product marketing, and digital transformation. Her primary responsibility will be as a leading content and educational resource for senior living. She will be responsible for the overall management of content development, corporate brand and image, and marketing activities that support membership, products, publications and programs and will oversee the digital transformation of the association with the goal of enabling teams to work more efficiently and strengthen the member experience.

With more than 15 years of association and corporate marketing and communications experience, Robert is ready to advance Argentum’s key initiatives on behalf of the senior living industry. She has worked in association, publishing and start-up technology environments and has been responsible for developing integrated marketing and communications plans designed to advance global membership initiatives, increase product sales, and expand value by deepening the organization’s relationships with its members and customers.

Frances Lysiak has joined the association as the Content Director and Editor. In this role, Lysiak will manage the association’s overall content strategy and production, serving an important role in maximizing content for distribution via multiple channels. She will direct the editorial content for the organization, relying on inputs from numerous internal and external sources to inform the organization’s annual content plan.

Lysiak most recently served as the Associate Editor for IQ Solutions, Inc. where she led production for a variety of public health communications content for the federal government’s National Institute on Aging, part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She also has worked with associations, most notably Transport Topics, a division of the American Trucking Association, where she served as the editor of Equipment & Maintenance Update, a quarterly print and digital publication of Transport Topics.

“Fran is a welcomed addition to the Argentum team,” said James Balda, Argentum president & CEO. “Her experience will be essential as Argentum implements a plan to become the top resource within the industry.”
