Alexandria Police Department Investigates Attempted Sexual Assault on Main Line Boulevard

Alexandria, Virginia - The Alexandria Police Department is currently investigating an attempted sexual assault that took place on Main Line Boulevard in the early hours of Sunday morning. At around 12:03 a.m., officers responded to a report of an assault and found an adult female who had been targeted by an unknown male assailant.

According to the victim, she was walking down an alleyway when the suspect attempted to sexually assault her. The police arrived promptly and established a perimeter in an attempt to apprehend the suspect. However, despite initiating a foot pursuit, the suspect managed to escape.

Given the seriousness of the crime, the Alexandria Police Department has enlisted the support of other law enforcement agencies, including the Fairfax County Police Department and the Metro Transit Police Department. This collaborative effort aims to bring the perpetrator to justice swiftly.

As the investigation continues, detectives are actively speaking with witnesses, reviewing video footage, and pursuing leads.
