The City of Alexandria's Department of Transportation and Environmental Services oversees the maintenance and repair of sidewalks, alleys, and over 561 lane miles of road. Their programs for repaving, patching, sidewalks, and alleys are aimed at ensuring infrastructure is in good condition for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and all users to travel safely through the city.
Businesses and residents on streets scheduled for repaving receive advance notice through project signs or letters. Temporary "No Parking" signs will be posted before work begins to avoid tickets and potential towing.
The Street Repaving list and schedule may change due to factors such as weather conditions, equipment issues, ongoing projects, or utility work coordination.
Scheduled asphalt repairs from August 19 to August 25 include:
- 400 Block of North Armistead Street
- 400 Block of North Jordan Street
