A variety of cultural and historical events are set to take place in Alexandria, Virginia, offering residents and visitors opportunities to engage with the city's rich heritage. Among these is the "Pop-Up Archaeology - Buried Ships of Robinson Landing Exhibit," scheduled for Friday, October 4. Attendees will have the chance to view scale models of 18th-century vessel remnants unearthed in 2018. This free exhibit is located at the corner of The Strand and Pioneer Mill Way.

On October 5 and 6, a walking tour titled "The Marquis de Lafayette Returns" will be led by Elizabeth Reese, a public historian and author. The tour retraces Lafayette's steps from his visit in 1824 and is organized by the Alexandria-Caen Sister City Committee.

The community can also look forward to several other events such as a Community Cookout on September 17 at Mt. Vernon Recreation Center, a Tavern Games Night: Rum Edition on September 20 at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, and a Discovering Alexandria Architecture Walking Tour on September 21 starting at Carlyle House.

For car enthusiasts, a Classic Car Show will take place on September 21 at the Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum. This event will showcase various "orphan" vehicles—cars no longer manufactured—co-sponsored by Packards Virginia and the Office of Historic Alexandria.

Another significant event is the screening of "Resolved: Never Again," a documentary by Robin Hamilton about Alexandria's history related to slavery and racial terror. This screening is part of the Alexandria Community Remembrance Project on September 21 at George Washington National Masonic Memorial.

Other notable activities include Yoga on the Magnolia Terrace on September 27, Civil War Camp Day on September 28 at Fort Ward Museum, and Art During Wartime book talk with Dr. Vanessa Schulman on October 4.

These events reflect Alexandria's commitment to preserving its history while providing educational experiences for all ages.
