The City of Alexandria's Department of Transportation and Environmental Services is set to carry out maintenance and repair work on sidewalks, alleys, and over 561 lane miles of road. This initiative aims to keep the infrastructure in good condition for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and all other users.

Residents and businesses affected by the upcoming repaving projects will receive advance notice through project signs or letters. Temporary "No Parking" signs will also be posted before work commences. Adherence to these signs is essential to avoid tickets or towing.

The schedule for street repaving is subject to change due to factors such as weather conditions, equipment availability, coordination with other city projects, and utility work.

Asphalt repairs are planned from July 8-14 at several locations:

- 5400 block of Duke Street

- 3600 block of King Street

- 800 block of King Street (at the intersection with Columbus Street)

- 3300 block of Commonwealth Avenue

- 3400 block of Commonwealth Avenue
