The Shirlington Circle south rotary bridge over I-395 will undergo a temporary closure from 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 21 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 28. This closure is part of a bridge rehabilitation project managed by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

Local residents are advised to plan their travel routes accordingly as this closure may result in delays.

The bridge serves as a connection between the southbound I-395 collector-distributor lanes and southbound Shirlington Road to North Quaker Lane at the I-395 Exit 6 interchange.

Drivers will need to follow detours using these routes:

- Southbound I-395 general purpose lanes: Take the ramp to Seminary Road (Exit 4), proceed eastbound on Seminary Road, then take the ramp to northbound I-395/Washington, continue on northbound I-395 general purpose lanes, and use the Exit 6/Shirlington ramp back to Quaker Lane.

- Shirlington Road/Campbell Avenue: Take the ramp to southbound I-395/Richmond, continue on southbound I-395 general purpose lanes, take the ramp to Seminary Road (Exit 4), go eastbound on Seminary Road, then take the ramp to northbound I-395/Washington, continue on northbound I-395 general purpose lanes, and use the Exit 6/Shirlington ramp back to Quaker Lane.

For further details about this closure, visit VDOT's website.
